Eric Scott is a North Carolina based trained creative artist that practice hand blown glass, graphic design, and illustration. Scott earmed a BS in Graphic Design from Elizabeth City State University Department of Visual Arts and continues to develop his glass artistry at Pitt Community College and East Carolina University School of Art & Design Glass Station. While sampling the structure of a vessel, Eric Scott utilizes the transparency and reflective nature of glass to create bespoke hand blown glass. Scott experiments with color, movement, texture and light to create abstract and contemporary works of art. Scott’s work tends to speak about black community, culture and society.
He is inspired by creating anything that answers questions about the way we interact, live and visually communicate with each other. Scott is influenced by his culture, his dreams and his everyday life experiences as a black man living in the Southern USA. He designs as a problem solver and a thinker. Simplicity is Scott’s principle of design. His mission is to create art that indulges people’s senses and heightens awareness of our collective experience. Scott is driven by the idea of making everything he creates relevant and useful, so that it can be shared and be influential in society, culture and community. Eric Scott has an absolute unwavering passion for all things creative done professionally and beautifully according to the God of all creation.
